Turn to Stone

Detail shot of the schist stonework that will be used for parts of the build project, exterior and interior.

I’m not a fan of the slim, sleekly monochromatic style of schist work that’s been popping up in architectural magazines, so we asked the stone masons to #1) embrace a variance of colours, and #2) use the stones the way they show up on site instead of chiseling them down into the same (or mostly similar) shape.

It’s a throwback to a more traditional style of stonework, and it seems to rub shoulders comfortably with the industrial influences throughout the rest of the build.
